Ability Lock
A state where a card or effect prevents players from using the Abilities of their specimens in play.
Judge Clarification
“This typically does not affect Abilities that trigger from the hand or discard pile unless specified.”
Checkup Step
The phase between turns where Special Conditions (Poison, Burn, etc.) are processed.
Judge Clarification
“Effects that happen "between turns" occur during this specific window.”
Lost Zone
An out-of-play area where cards are sent and cannot be retrieved by normal means.

“Unlike the discard pile, the Lost Zone is not public knowledge for certain interactions, though players may count the cards.”
Simultaneous Knockouts
When both active specimens are knocked out at the same time due to an effect or damage.

“The player whose turn it is chooses their new active specimen first, followed by the opponent.”
